CONTROLS:

MOUSE1 to place bets, MOUSE2 to reset placed bets.

HOLD SPACE to roll Dice

While holding SPACE, use WASD and E+Q to navigate the ghost dice, rigging the results of the roll

Release SPACE to let go of Dice

Press ENTER for the next Turn, or to restart if you lose

Make sure to release before the screen becomes fully red! This means the casino staff have caught on to your dirty tricks and will revoke all your winnings!

The Game

The screen will become red (slowly) to indicate when you are running out of time so be wary if you are sensitive to that.
You are a chronic gambling addict, and in an attempt to recoup your hefty expenses you've invested in a set of weighted dice. While it seems like you're finally in control, it's much more difficult than anticipated to set up your little scheme. With eyes on you everywhere, your anxiety draws the suspicion of staff nearby. Are you willing to risk everything to get it all back? Or is this just a manifestation of your addiction back to haunt you? Find out by getting bigger and bigger wins, and see how close you can cut it to being exposed!
If you couldn't tell I'm not much of a creative writer.

Some Notes

I balanced the game for someone who was just picking it up, it should become much easier after a few minutes, and eventually basically impossible to lose. I ran out of time to implement a difficulty curve, I was too busy throwing poker chips everywhere.
There's no sound, no menu screen, etc. If you couldn't tell it's super incomplete but hey, that's the point of a game jam.
The entire right side is labeled incorrectly, you earn 4x on bets for those. I'm pretty sure I intended it to be 3x but that's what no sleep does to your brain I guess.
With the benefit of testing the game properly, It takes way too long to bet large amounts, so the limitation to your biggest win is more your time then your risk adversity...

About Development

This is my second solo game in Unity, with my first one being for the GMTK Game Jam last year. Due to my irresponsible time management I reviewed nothing about how to make a Unity game AGAIN (see Color Theory), and I was looking up even the most basic things. I also woke up on time, but fell back asleep losing a crucial 5 hours, so that didn't help much.
At least half of my time was spent on getting the dice to roll properly, I was  definitely ready to give up pretty early on but I stuck through it. The HUD was another massive pain point, I basically didn't end up using it except for the suspicion indicator (the red screen).
Despite all this setup for failure, my first foray into the realm of the 3 Dimensional has been quite successful. Luckily for me, before I fell asleep, I came up with the idea for the game. I wanted rigged dice, turning their inherent randomness to your own benefit. Seeing as the main way to rig dice was through weights, I could practice Unity's physics AND 3D environment. What a perfect project! I am actually quite surprised at how easy the transition was. This isn't to say there weren't any challenges–there most certainly were–but this was an amazing learning experience.
Hope you had fun and I've intrigued you somewhat with Rig the Dice I'm very excited to see everyone else's games!
